Chinook boys sweep 1B rivals, girls fall twice

After an opening weekend snowstorm, and a tough first loss, the Chinook boys basketball team bounced back in a huge way this past weekend.

The Sugarbeeters opened District 1B play with a pair of wins last weekend.

Chinook’s first home game of the season saw them beat the Rocky Boy Stars 63-54 at the Chinook High gymnasium. Ryan Bell had 22 points to lead the way, but the Beeters also got 21 points from Jameson Norboe in the victory.

Chinook followed the victory over Rocky Boy with a 54-46 road win over arch rival Shelby. It was a huge victory for the Sugarebeeters as Norboe scored 20 and Bell...
