I have to say this is the longest autumn weather that we have had in years. The ice on the walks and streets could go away, I’m sure nobody would miss it. Many tears were shed and stories swapped in remembrance of the ten family members lost from Sweet Memorial Nursing Home due to the invasion of COVID-19. As the staff and administration of the Home move beyond their grief, they are happy to report that currently the Sweet Home has no active cases and twenty recoveries. Carol Johnsrud, of Chinook, wanted to share a Thanksgiving greeting with friends. A retired nurse she wanted to keep everyone safe but still personalize the greeting. She would drive to a "greetee's" residence, ring them up on a cell phone and urge them to "look out your window" where she was holding the greeting. October was a challenging month for the staff and residents at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home as they learned that despite their best efforts, COVID has a presence in the Home. Those challenges continued into November. Turner School Recipient of Meat Donation There is already a Montana Beef to School Program in place. A newly formed organization is using this model as well as one from Winnett and Choteau. The program recently donated 300 pounds of delicious Montana grown Beef and patties to Turner and Big Sandy Schools.
