The 24th Annual Quilt Show at the 67th Montana Seed Show is Friday, March 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sat. March 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The show is held in the band room at the Harlem High School. Officer Zach Freeman, with the Montana Highway Patrol, reported a crash occurred on US 2 at Mile Marker 411 Sunday afternoon, February 7. The two vehicle crash resulted in one fatality. The Blaine County Sheriff’s office reported the victim was identified as 18 year old Jesse Dannels of Chinook. According to Freeman’s investigation of the crash a westbound passenger car crossed the centerline, entered the oncoming lane and struck an eastbound semi-truck. After years and two different sitting councils, the secretarial election was finally held after many trials and temporary roadblocks. Both tribes and the Assiniboine and Gros-Ventre voted and the vote passed by a count of 154 for and 99 opposed. Also, a secretarial election calls for 30% of the registered voters to participate. When the weather allows, the Harlem Civic Association will place a gazebo in the southwest corner of Centennial Park. The park is on the west edge of town. Harlem, MT had a rough week, as a chlorine leak at the treatment plant drastically slowed down the rate at which the city was able to process clean drinking water. There was an increase in temperature, that caused a lead plug on the chlorine tank to melt, and leak the gas into the plant. Chlorine gas is extremely corrosive, and the gas also did a number on the electrical systems in the plant.
