The Havre High track and fields teams are looking to be tested this spring. And the Blue Ponies took a major exam last Saturday in Billings. Havre High attended the Billings Invitational last Saturday, where the Ponies were part of a 19-team meet that featured all five Billings’ schools, as well as Bozeman and Gallatin High, among other powerhouses. It's spring rodeo season in the Big Sky Region, and Havre was the place to be last weekend as the Montana State University-Northern Rodeo Team hosted the annual MSU-Northern Rodeo at the Great Northern Fairgrounds. Head coach Doug Kallenberger's women's team scored 340 points to finish second in the rodeo, while the Lights placed seventh. It was a tough weekend on the softball diamond for the Havre Blue Ponies, as they dropped games to Shepherd and Laurel this past weekend. The Ponies opened the weekend with a 9-1 loss to Shepherd.The Blue Ponies opened the scoring in the first after Bree Hanson singled, scoring one run. It’s the busiest time of the season for the Havre High tennis teams, and this tough stretch started last weekend at the Class A Invite in Cut Bank. The Havre tennis teams played duals against Polson, Hamilton, Libby and Cut Bank last weekend, and the competition was really good for the Ponies.
