With the suspension of the Sugarbeet Festival, a few organizations and individuals in Chinook took matters into their own hands to create some fall diversions last weekend at the Blaine County Fairgrounds. After a long stretch of record hot temperatures and dry conditions, locals got a break as the rains finally came. When Meadowlark fourth grader Griffin Crowley and his family returned to their home in south Blaine County after being evacuated because of the East Fork Fire, Griffin made a sign for the front yard. Members of the Chinook High School classes of 1956-1957-1958 are gathering this weekend for their 59th, 60th and 61st reunions. The event will begin with the Harlem Hunger Walk starting at 2 PM; entry forms for this 5K walk are available at Richman Insurance (forms have all the needed information). Two wildfires have raised concerns with locals in the southwestern part of the county. While each fire had its own unique conditions, the most recent fire was on Lloyd Road south off Bose Road.
