    (MALTA, Mont.) – The Bureau of Land Management issued a final decision today for a bison grazing proposal involving seven allotments in Phillips County, Montana, held by American Prairie, which allows for bison grazing on six of the seven allotments. The Telegraph Creek, Box Elder, Flat Creek, White Rock, French Coulee, Garey Coulee and East Dry Fork allotments – a total of approximately 63,500 acres of BLM-administered lands – currently provide 7,969 animal unit months of permitted use.     Michael J "Mick" Thompson, born February 13, 1947, to William R Thompson and Lydia Koenig, in Havre, Montana, passed away at home, July 20, 2022. Mick was raised in Chinook, attending Chinook schools, and graduated in 1965. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served two years on active duty and four years in the reserves.     Long time Chinook resident Gary Dean "Dutch" Schulte passed away of natural causes at his home on Monday, July 18, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Chinook Golf Course at 5:00 PM. Dutch was born June 21, 1952 in Marshall, Minnesota to Carl F. Schulte and Bernadette "Bernie" Stokes. He attended grade school and high school in Roundup, Montana.     The Blaine County Weed and Mosquito District (BCWMD) has kept a diligent fogging schedule that, along with several other variables, has created a mosquito-limited summer season for most Blaine County residents.
