    A year ago on September 30th Blaine County and the surrounding areas were hit with a major snowstorm that destroyed buildings, knocked down trees and left hundreds with out power for nearly a week and a half.     Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Hunter Education course dates have been set for a youth classroom course in Chinook, beginning on Mon., Oct. 8. The course will be held at the Blaine Co.   • Blaine County's first hemp seed crop harvested under new state guidelines

    Dick Nicholson recently harvested 200 acres of industrial hemp. The crop is a first for Blaine County under a provision of the national Agricultural Act of 2014, also known as the 2014 Farm Bill. That bill allowed states to devise a program to license the growing of industrial hemp. Montana's first planting under the process occurred in 2017.
