    Last weekend saw the opening round of the 2025 Class C volleyball postseason, and many area squads found success. At the District 9C Tournament in Belt, the North Star Knights finished second, losing to Belt 3-0 in the championship match last Saturday night.     What a finish to an incredible season for the Harlem High School boys cross country team. Last Saturday in Missoula, the Wildcats cruised to the Class B boys state cross country championship by scoring 60 points in a dominating performance. Harlem was paced by Ethan Walker, a sophomore who finished in second place in the boys race with a time of 16:04.0.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters are heading back to the Class C football playoffs. While the Beeters already had a strong season and were locked into a playoff berth prior to last Friday night's regular season finale with Simms, they certainly wanted to end that regular season on a high note.     With the general deer and elk hunting season opening this weekend, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) officials wish to remind hunters of several key principles.     Sylvi Harwood from the Chinook Lions Swim Team set the federation record in the girls 8 and under 50 meter free style. The record was previously held by Hadley Edwards, daughter of Chinook Alumni Tyler Edwards, and granddaughter of Cherie Edwards.
