    The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbird Volleyball team came into the District 7C Tournament as the most improved team this season. Despite what the win column shows, the Thunderbirds made great strides on the court, challenging the top team more often to earn wins.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters began their 2021 Montana Class C Eight-man football playoff on the road this past Saturday in Fairview. The 7-1 Sugarbeeters entered the contest as the No. 4 Seed out of the North while the 6-2 Warriors entered as the No. 1 Seed out of the East.     The Chinook Sugarbeeters are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2018. The 'Beeters will begin their Montana Class C Eight-man State football playoff run in the same place they saw their season end three years ago.     The Harlem Wildcats and Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds were in Missoula this past Saturday for the Montana All-Class State Cross Country Meet. The Wildcats contingent consisted of seven runners, six in the boys Class B race and one in the Girls Class B. The Thunderbirds had one athlete in the boys Class C race. This week the Lady Cats played just one match, falling in a tough five set contest to the Wolf Point Wolves 25-23, 15-25, 25-22, 17-25, 12-15.     The Harlem Wildcats scheduled contest with the Great Falls Central Catholic Mustangs was set to be played this past Friday. The Mustangs ended their season after week number two leaving the Wildcats in need of a game. The Rocky Boy Stars agreed to play the Wildcats in Harlem, but with the Stars already scheduled to play a game on Saturday, the contest would have to take place on a Monday.
