She was born October 22, 1927 in Chinook, Montana to Jesse Levi Brandon and Sarah Anne Stanger Brandon. She was born and raised in Chinook and graduated from Chinook High School in 1945. After high school, she worked at the dime store in Chinook when she met the love of her life, Guy Murphy. They were married March 4th 1951.
